Innovation moves forward by the FF8500

The FF8500 is an innovative design for a hybrid Flettner freighter by C-Job Naval Architects, which features a design which integrates both the hull and two Flettner rotors. The Norsepower rotors generate a Magnus effect, adding thrust in addition to a conventional engine. The maritime merchant sector is looking for new sustainable means of shipping. The Flettner rotor is a promising instrument to decrease carbon emissions together with operational costs. The FF8500 is the first commercial initiative to pursue market introduction by an integrated demand orientated ship design.
